# Editorial Policy

This policy explains how Whitepill selects, prepares, attributes, and corrects the news and milestone information published on the site.

Last updated: 28 August 2026

## Editorial purpose

Whitepill documents constructive developments and significant milestones connected to India. The focus on positive progress does not mean that relevant uncertainty, limitations, disputed claims, or necessary context should be removed.

Coverage is selective rather than exhaustive. Inclusion reflects the project’s editorial focus and should not be interpreted as an endorsement of every organisation, person, policy, or external source mentioned on the site.

## Selection criteria

An item may be considered when it is relevant to India, supported by a traceable public source, and demonstrates meaningful progress, achievement, capability, reform, or social benefit. Significance, verifiability, long-term relevance, and usefulness to readers are considered ahead of publication volume.

## News feed

The news section is a discovery feed, not a reproduction of the source publication. Headlines are written for Whitepill in original language and link directly to the external report or document.

Whitepill does not claim authorship of the reporting behind an external link. Readers should visit the named source for the complete article, its corrections, its publication context, and any access or usage terms set by the publisher.

## Milestones and AI assistance

Whitepill uses AI-assisted research to help discover, organise, and draft milestone summaries and timelines from publicly available material. AI-generated output is not treated as an independent source or evidence.

Milestone pages are intended to synthesise factual developments in original language and place them in chronological context. They should not copy or lightly rewrite complete source articles. Readers can use the resource links on each page to inspect the supporting material directly.

## Sources and attribution

Sources may include government publications, statutory bodies, academic institutions, company announcements, official statements, and established news organisations. Wherever practical, primary documents are preferred for dates, figures, approvals, launches, and other directly verifiable claims.

An official or company source establishes what that organisation has announced; it does not necessarily provide independent verification. Claims that are disputed or cannot be independently confirmed should be described with appropriate attribution and context.

## Dates, updates, and corrections

A milestone’s main date represents the event itself. Its publication and modification dates describe the Whitepill record. News-feed dates may represent when an item was added to Whitepill unless an original publisher date is specifically available.

If a factual error, missing context, broken source, or incorrect attribution is identified, the entry may be corrected, clarified, or removed. Substantive changes should update the page’s modification metadata.

Correction requests should include the affected page URL, a clear description of the issue, and supporting evidence where available.

## Images

Image credits identify the stated creator, publisher, or source where that information is available; a credit does not itself establish ownership or permission. Rights holders can request a correction, updated attribution, or removal by providing the page URL and relevant details.
